The LFP Disciplinary Committee, meeting on April 29, 2026, issued its decisions regarding exclusions and sanctions for the Ligue 1 McDonald’s and Ligue 2 BKT championships. Among the sanctioned players, Mory Gbane of Stade de Reims received a one-match suspension, significant news for the Reims club during this crucial period of the season.
This sanction for Mory Gbane follows a fifth warning received by the player in various competitions (Ligue 2 BKT, Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions) or due to the revocation of a previous suspended sentence. The decision will take effect from Tuesday, May 5, 2026, meaning the midfielder will miss a key match for Stade de Reims.
Mory Gbane's absence could have repercussions on the Stade de Reims coach's strategy for the upcoming match. The club will need to adapt and find solutions to compensate for this forfeiture, especially as every point counts in Ligue 2 BKT to achieve their set objectives.
In addition to Mory Gbane's suspension, other Ligue 2 BKT players were also sanctioned. Allan Ackra (Clermont Foot 63) received a three-match ban, while Demba Thiam (US Boulogne CO) was suspended for two matches. Mehdi Merghem (SC Bastia) and Cazim Suljic (AS Nancy-Lorraine) also received a one-match ban.
The Committee also issued suspensions for accumulated warnings, affecting Abdellah Baallal (Clermont Foot 63), Teddy Bouriaud (AS Nancy-Lorraine), Evans Jimmy (AS Nancy-Lorraine), and Allan Linguet (USL Dunkerque), whose sanctions will also take effect on May 5, 2026.
In Ligue 1 McDonald’s, Gonçalo Ramos (Paris Saint-Germain) was suspended for one firm match and one match with a suspended sentence, while Pierre Lees-Melou (Paris FC) received a one-match ban. Sanctions for accumulated warnings were also issued for Yannick Cahuzac (FC Lorient), Kenny Lala (Stade Brestois 29), Mamadou Sangare (RC Lens), Mario Sauer (Toulouse FC), and Adrien Thomasson (RC Lens).
Finally, the Disciplinary Committee also ruled on the behavior of Amiens SC supporters during the 32nd round of Ligue 2 BKT against Montpellier Hérault SC. The use and throwing of pyrotechnic devices, which led to a temporary interruption of the match, resulted in a full stadium closure (huis clos total) for the Stade de la Licorne and the closure of the North stand for one match, effective immediately.
